Yellow City began March 8th, 2013- with Chef Scott & Rin selling tacos in the local bars. Then on April 20, 2013, they opened up their "food truck without wheels" in a small drive-thru location downtown.

Yellow City expanded to a sit-down restaurant Sept 2016, on Wolflin Ave.

When on KAMR CH 4 news in March 22, 2013, local news anchor, Andy Justus, asked Chef Scott & Rin what in the world "Yellow City" even meant- why the husband/wife team chose that name..? It was at that point (on tv) that Amarillo discovered a new, Scott & Rin's fun, new nickname for the city! Thanks, Scott & Rin!
